Great weather - great plan - great "fleet" - and great crew for the passage through NY Harbor tomorrow!
Well, after the bad weather of the weekend, we are off to a new start fro the trip -
- today, Monday July 7, LOVINDE and OWL will rendezvous off of Long Neck Point and head West - for a projected overnight at College Point Yacht Club (near Laguardia, not "in" at the Worlds Fair Marina - but on the main channel - about 2 miles from the critical choke point of HellGate).
- tomorrow, Tuesday July 8, early in the morning, we will be joined by Peter Adler and Pat Linskey - the loyal crew from last week's adventure - for the trip through the harbor and out the Veranzano and over to the East Rockaway Inlet. The current at HellGate is at "slack, high" - i.e. the very best time to go through - at 6:50am on Tuesday - so this should put us through and out of the harbor (20 miles) around Noon - allowing plenty of time to get over to protected waters in early afternoon. Peter and Pat will debark at some point in the early evening, to be picked up by PJ and Jan - and that's "The Plan."
Stay tuned on the blog for updates - we look forward to a fine trip along the southern coast, within Great South Bay - enjoying the scenery, the food, and the good weather.
Best - and come back to check on us, often! Frank & Roger
