Our "fleet" (*) consists of two similar craft: Marshall Sanderling Catboats - 18' in length.
Owl hull number 698 commissioned in 1992 - black hull, tan deck, varnished teak
Lovinde hull number 550 commissioned in 1983 - white hull, grey deck, natural teak trim
Owl is powered by a 8hp Mercury 2 cycle outboard
Lovinde is powered by a 6hp Johnson 2 cycle outboard
The specifications of these Marshall Catboats are given as:
- Length overall 18'2"
- Beam 8' 6"
- Draft 19" with the centerboard up, and 4' 4" with the centerboard down
- Sail Area 253 square feet
- Displacement 2200 lbs
- Ballast 500 pounds
- Accommodations - a "V" berth in the cabin - as a practical matter -
one berth is for gear, the other berth for a sleeping bag
